How do I register for the test?

You can register online at http://testing.las.uh.edu by using a credit card (Currently UH students can be billed). You have to register at least 48 hours before the scheduled test time and date.

How long is the test and what is the test all about?

The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is a high mental ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as analogies. It is a computer-based test and consists of 120 analogy questions. Fluency in the English language, a broad knowledge of literature, philosophy, history, science, mathematics, and fine arts, and the ability to reason out relationships may contribute to performance on the MAT. No one is permitted to use a dictionary or any other reference aid when taking the MAT.

When do I receive my MAT-CB scores?

After you complete the test, you will have the option to see your preliminary score at the end of the test. The Preliminary Score Report is not the official Score Report, which will be mailed by Harcourt Assessment, Inc., in 10 to 15 business days.

How much does MAT-Computer Based cost?

The fee for MAT-CB is $70.00 for UH students (at main campus only) and $80.00 for non-UH students. Walk-in fee is additional $10.00. Currently-enrolled UH students will be billed.

    What is the Rescheduling Fee?

There is a US$10.00 fee to reschedule the date and time of an MAT exam appointment if you reschedule your appointment at least 48 hours before your scheduled test time and date.  You may not be able to reschedule after the 48 hours prior of your scheduled test time and date.
To transfer to different test date and time, you can do so by clicking View & Change Test Registration after you login.  The rescheduling fee is subject to change without notice.
