You will receive your result in two days. Please pick up your result in Room 204 Student Service Center 1 after 1:00 pm.
The criteria for Placement in ENGL 1300, ENGL 1303, ENGL 1304 for Native English Speakers are as follows:
- ENGL 1300: A score of less than 40 on ITSWE or TSWE, or a score of less than 17 on the ACT English Usage prior to 10/89, or a score of less than 19 on the ACT English Usage, or a score of less than 240 on TASP Writing
- ENGL 1303: A score of at least 40 on ITSWE or TSWE, or a score of at least 17 on the ACT English Usage prior to 10/89, or a score of at least 19 on the ACT English Usage, or a score of at least 240 on the TASP Writing
- ENGL 1304: A score of at least 40 on ITSWE or TSWE, or a score of at least 17 on the ACT English Usage prior to 10/89, or a score of at least 19 on the ACT English Usage, or a score of at least 240 on the TASP Writing, and successful completion of ENGL 1303.

I am a non-native English speaker. Do I have to take ITSWE?
It is advisable for you to take the PENNSE (Placement Examination for Non-Native Speakers of English).
The criteria for Placement in ENGL 1300,
ENGL 1309, and
ENGL 1310 for Non-Native English Speakers are as follows:
- ENGL 1300: Below the passing score in the PENNSE
- ENGL 1309: A passing score in the PENNSE
- ENGL 1310: A passing score in the PENNSE and ENGL 1309 or equivalent
If you have not qualified for placement in ENGL 1309, you should know that the following minimum test scores may also be used for placement in these courses.
You will need to show proof of these scores to your instructor to be allowed to stay in a class.
