TCLEOSE - Peace Officer

Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) Examinations

You may register online for the TCLEOSE exam at http://testing.las.uh.edu or come to Room 204 Student Service Center 1 to complete the Registration form at least 72 hours before the day of the test.

TEST DATES

All examinations are held in room 212 Student Service Center at the University of Houston. With the exception of university holidays, TCLEOSE examinations are given every Monday at 9:00 a.m.

FEE

The regular test registration fee is $25.00.
All fees must be received at least 24 hours prior to the test date. All fees are non-refundable.
Fees payable to the University of Houston may be paid by cash, check, money order or credit card. If you are paying with a check, please include your telephone number and your driver’s license number on the check. Credit Cards WILL BE ACCEPTED ONLY through the online registration system.

If you are already registered with us, but find you may not be able to attend your test, you may transfer your test date to another test date by paying a $10.00 transfer fee. You can transfer online if you registered online, or you may fill out the Transfer Registration Form, check off the transfer box, and mail it to us with your transfer fee; and again, we must receive both the registration form and the completed admission ticket at least 24 hours prior to the requested transfer test date.

You have the option to take this test as a walk-in. The total fee for walk-ins is $35.00 on a space-available basis. If you decide to be a walk-in, YOU MUST ARRIVE AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE TEST. Please bring a check or money order and include your driver’s license number and telephone number on the check. If you decide to pay with cash, please try to bring the exact amount.

NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT PROPER PAYMENT.

TEST INFORMATION

The Basic Peace Officer exam has 250 questions with a time limit of 2 hours 45 minutes. Please expect approximately four hours at the testing center.
The Basic Reserve, Jailer, Armed Public Security Officer, and Investigative Hypnosis exams all have 100 questions with a time limit of 1.5 hours. Please allow approximately two hours at the testing center.
